Larry and his wife of 36 years also loved sailing on the Chesapeake Bay where his sailboats had a habit of growing larger when he added water. Flying and his airplanes were a passion for him he was a private pilot for many years and flew whenever he could from the beautiful grass strips of Smyrna Airport and most especially his last years flying and volunteering at Massey Airport and Museum. Larry was a member of the Board of Directors of The Air Mobility Command Museum at DAFB from 2010-2014. Memorials in his name can be made to a charity.
